    Default VX SS Power gain

I just purchased a VX SS and i have a few mods lined up for it.. starting with extractors, full exhaust system with high flow cats, cold air intake, fuel pump, and a good tune.. what sort of power should i be chasing with these mods??? and if there is any mods that i should be looking at, without spending too much cash.. Cheers

It varies mate. Maybe around 220-240rwkw. Other mods to look at would be diff gears if you are serious about performance. You can change a slug auto from 3.08 to something higher like 3.7, manual you could go 3.9 or 4.1's without affecting cruise economy too much. 4.1's maybe use a bit more on the highway.

Also depends on whether you use an airbox setup with a MAF and maf tune, or an OTr with MAfless, and the size of the exhaust/extractors, need a bit more info on your plans to give a more accurate figure mate.

There you go mate, that's what you can expect, maybe a tiny bit more with the extractors, bloody quick nonetheless

Ive got the same mods on my vx II ss twin 2 1/2 difilippo exhaust standard headers and cats, ramjet otrcai and mafless tune done at gm motorsport in melton and i only got 210rwkw on my dyno sheet and the package i got said 290fwkw and auto i thinks 27% loss 27% of 290kw is around 80kw so i suppose thats rite i was hoping for at least 220rwkw, its quick but i always want quicker

Btw my ss threw a belt 2 weeks after i got all that done for no apparent reason so that was another $300 for a 25% ud belt new pully + labour

mate you need a better tune if u only got 210rwkw out of it. yours manual or auto, is there any difference to how the tune would go with manual or auto?

Don't get caught up on dyno figures. How does it feel out on the road? Did you get a before and after run?

233rwkw is about 315 kw at the engine so yeah maybe a optimistic dyno but you got it tuned a willall martin is a good tuner

I got mine done at gmm it pulled 190rwkw before with just the catback and 210rwkw after the mafless tho i dont know if the otr was put on before or after the first run i had hoped for at least 220rwkw
maybe the guys at gmm just dont like me much lol

I have an VX SS, A4, when I had Extractors, 3" hi flow cats, twin 3 exhaust and mafless tune instaled it did 202rwkw. Not sure how much it gives now that I had an OTRCAI installed, but together the car feels so much better than standard. You may get more or less power than other people witht the same mods, depends on Auto versus Manual and the dyno I suppose.
