heh ok
the rubber trims around my VT body exterior are looking a little tired and sad,
Is there a product that could recondition the trims and seals?
at my old work if they looked crap eg faded or whatever before we would let the car go we would rub silicone on them makes it all nice and shiny![]()

'ARMOR ALL', I have found brings old rubber back to looking good, for a while. Also "Tire Shine', in an aerosole, available from Auto shops, as well as Cheap as Chips shops and the like, puts a shine on faded plastic/rubber. Makes the rear louver on the missus buzz bomb look like new.
yeah that too thats probably the cheaper option id go with pablo on this its cheaper and easy than the silicone

I use Meguiars gold class trim detailer with a fair bit of success. Im pretty sure it does the same job as the ARMOR ALL though, im guessing it's more expensive than the AA. Do it every time i wax the car and she comes up looking awesome![]()
My window trims were looking very faded
So i sanded then down paint with gloss black paint...looked good but after a week they started to bubble...Only drivers side rest look good..
So i took it off sanded it down plastic primer than gloss black paint same thing happened
But rest of them look good??????
has anyone paint these trims??? what did you use
prepsol is a wax and grease remover you use it on the surface your painting before you paint and and after its been prepsoled dont touch it or youll have to do it again

I find the stuff in the packets from the carwashes is great. it's called TIRE SHINE and comes out of the machine with a glove.
I use it on all my black rubber bits around my car and on the front and rear windscreen rubbers before i use it on my tyres, and it stays fresh, black and looking great for weeks.
obviously when it rains it comes off and you need to re apply, but it's cheap as chips and does the lot.
