Default squeek sound when apply breaks

    Hi,

I have VX S2 2001 acclaim. When i apply breaks squeeky sounds comes. Its not all the time but sound is there. I have got the rear break pads replaced and disk machined. but sound is still there. Is it common?

Yeah, check all your pads and discs, otherwise there is a spray that you can apply to your brakes that is called "stop squeel". You can pick these up from any parts store probly even kmart or big w

I've found the cheaper pad ($30) squeeled badly - replaced the pads with some $70 units (bendix) and problem was gone.

I binned the "new" $30 pads after 3 weeks.

take your pads out and grind the leading edge of the pad material at 45 degrees and put them back in. squeel will be gone.

Bit off topic mate, but did you notice any performance difference with the Bendix pad?
