Hey,
Posting to ask if anyone could help me in getting my Differential changed from the Standard open diff to one with LSD, or what needs to be done to my current diff to make it LSD.
The car is in extremely good condition and I wouldn't want to replace the diff with a crap one that would make noise etc.
I haven't got any contacts in the mechanical world so I have no idea where to go, who to talk to etc.
Is the best option to get a 2nd hand Differential off an SS VT put in? or the gears out of it put in? (not sure what needs to be replaced)
The car is a VT Calais 5L V8 and when I bought it, I asked the dealer about 5 times if it had LSD and he said yes, so I took his word because I wasn't able to read the metal plate on the Diff as it had too much dirt on it.
(I'm in Perth by the way)
Cheers heaps,
MattyC

you the one that posted a week ago about 'how to tell if its a lsd????????? if so -first i'd go and tell the seller you've been to fair trading and tell him that fair trading said you have to try and resolve it with the trader befor you can lodge the claim.....and to just put one in the car like he said there was (misrepresentation is a big no no)
if not i'd just go to the wreckers and get em to put one in. they'd have one and know what there doing.
unless ya rolling in $$$$ get a brand spanker from a diff shop.
Cheers for the reply,
nah I didnt post how to tell if its LSD because i already tested to see if it was, does anyone know any Perth Wreckers I could go to in the western suburbs? got no clue...
