Hey
I took my car to the mechanics the other day coz it was using more fuel than usual. they did a service, cleaned the throttle bodies, replaced the spark plugs and cleaned the MAF sensor. They also said that my waterpump is o the way out (got play in it) and said that by replacing the water pump this will fix my fuel problem ( all the other stuff didnt, just made car run alot smoother). I was wondering if that is true.
P.S replacing waterpump tommorow.
Thanks
I can't see how a water pump with some play in the bearings will have any impact on your fuel consumption. Will potentially make it smoother and quieter once replaced. The other items you mentioned (except for the fact that you only have one throttle body) should give you some improvement provided the ignition leads are still OK.
i think there having a lend of you mate. sounds like crap to me
If it is using more fuel than normal try replacing the fuel filter. It could also be faulty oxygen sensors or temp sensor or the thermostat is stuck open.
