Gday.I am new here so please forgive me if seem noobish.I have a problem with my vt ss,Very hard to start when cold, upon checking yesterday found no spark from coil but after some time of cranking it will fire so unfortunately i have limited time to find problem, car has been fitted with gas so not sure if problem is related to that also.It will after 4 or 5 mins cranking on and off it will fire up.Iam trying to find a wiring diagram for a vt 5.0l but keep going around in circles although i am guessing it is me..If anyone could email me one or even better a diagnose elimination chart would greatly appreciate it as i am a forklift mechanic but am lost in the electrical system of my own vt,lol.Once running car runs well but this starting problem is a real pain in the ass.Would greatly appreciate any feedback and my addy is westy63@exemail.com.au.Also must comment on this site also found afew other nice bits of info such as how to rid annoying service reminder as due to cost nowadays i maintain my own.
This no spark problem is a common fault everyday upon startup, initially i thought it was a fuel problem until i spent some time on it first thing in freezing cold yesterday to look at ,wouldve preferred it if it was a fuel problem lol
I had a bit of a read through my Gregorys manual and it says to check the engine compartment fuses and fusible links if you have no spark. It also says to check the engine control relay in the engine compartment fuse and relay box. It says you can swap the relay with a headlight relay to see if it fixes the problem.
