    Question VT issues . . .

I'm hoping someone can help me out a bit!
My VT wagon has decided that it wants to be difficult to start. Takes 2-3 times to start, even when engine is warm.
Also, recently the temp gauge all of a sudden shoots up to 3/4 or full with all the warning lights flashing in front of me. It appears that the engine isn't hot though?? Only really happens when siting at idle, the engine and fan will make a noise and up goes the temp gauge???
I've had it looked at, my mechanic replaced the manifold gasket as it may have been leaking a bit, sending funny readings to the ECU. And you guessed it, it's starting to do it again! Ive hade a few issues with ECU in the past, including the central locking with my keys not working.
Anyone else had the same issues??

If your keys are dead the starting issue could be the immobiliser circuit not energising. If the engine turns over the first time you turn the key, but doesn't start then does nothing it could be that. It's also possible your starter motor is getting tired, you'll be able to hear if this is the case when it's turning over.

Regarding the temp problem, I'd start by checking your coolant level and bleeding any air out of it.

    Thanks Danja,
I've had the key heads replaced twice in the past 2-3 years, & doesn't seem to have any effect??
In regards to the temp gauge issue, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the fluid levels, radiator, or the overall cooling system. All seems fine on this front. I've had them all checked out, flushed etc etc.
