first car
metallic dark blue series I calais
clean as
sunroof
second car
tungsten mica series II
clean apart from a couple small scraches
full leather interior
wood grain dashboard
Had a look at redbook and it says that the series II has auto levelling suspension. what is it?
the series II is a dealer car. Being end of financial year does it effect used car dealers?
just on my experience, i have a S1 i would get the S2
Go the S2, full leather interior, not a fan of the ol' wood grain myself but things like that are easy fixed. I suggest you also take a mate who knows cars or a mechanic or something to check out the car(s) before you buy.
yeah end of financial year effects them.
doesnt it effect everyone lol
go for full leather.. or find one with both
Hit the star under this post if it was any help to you =D
Def series 2, and yeah do make sure you take someone with you to check them out, especially if the series 1 is a private sale...!
I have never seen the point of having a sun roof. Go the full leather. It will also have much better resale value.
Question, are they V8's or sixes?
50LTRv8
Self levelling suspension consists of air shocks, a sensor and a compressor, when the rear of the vehicle is loaded down with a lot of weight or when towing, the compressor pumps up the shocks bringing it back up to level. It is an option so it doesn't necessarily mean that car will have it. I have a Caprice and it did not have it until I installed it myself.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
series II ! there more refined.. Some parts are cheaper for the sII than the sI for some reason, i think because they are a bit more similar to the VX! How many k's they done? and like 50LTRv8 asked are they 6's or 8's ??
Need a V8 or Turbo...!
if it was a choice betweent leather or a sunroof id go sunroof, leather cracks n scratches to easy especial when getting old.
not now i see its between an s1 or s2, id say s2 would be the best choice if no vx's are around
got the series I! ignored you all ha!
series II was a bit rougher. Had a few scrathes and a few small dents, aircon wasn't as cold as it should be, leather was good thought. He wanted 8000. oh and it didn't have auto leveling suspension, redbook lists it as standard on the series II.
the series I is spotless. paint still looks new. drives great and got it for 7500 bucks. only fault was one of the rear power windows switches was'nt working but he's taking care of it, as well as 2 new tyres and the roady.
ill put some pics up next week
cheers guys
Also another point is, its much easier to upgrade to a leather interior rather than getting a sunroof down the track if u decide you want both :-)

hey everyone, ive always liked the noise of a blow off valve hissing at the change of gear, n was wondering if there is a way to hook one up on a alloytec 3.6L without a turbo?
