Hi, get your multimeter out and starting at the bulb holders, track back and find out where you have 12 volts. It may also help to check your fuse holder ie check for voltage on both ends of the fuse terminals. Sounds like circuit or fuse to me.

Not sure what the neutral start switch has anything to do with your reverse lights....
Its more likely your reverse microswitch is stuffed or the wiring to this switch has fallen off. You'll have to pull apart your centre console to get to it. The microswitch activates when you select the reverse gear.

Just looked in my Commodore service manual and the backup/reverse switch is a part of your neutral start switch and is mounted on the passenger side of the auto transmission. The manual version is screwed straight in to the passenger side of the manual transmission

ummm....just curious, why panic, it's only reverse lights? not like the brake lights are not working?

anyway looks like you've already done all the common thing like checked fuses, replacing globes and neutral switch. i guess the next step is to check the wiring and make sure they're not broken. like suggested, use a multimeter to see if the 12v is getting to the globes.
