Ok so next week I plan on putting a set of King Spring Super Lows in the rear of my SS that I picked up for $100 (yay ebay. lol). I dont have the cash for a camber kit yet so will start saving for that but Im just curious exactly HOW bad the camber wear will be? My tyres are currently about 90% so when people say I will get really bad camber wear, exactly how long should I expect from my tyres? 5,000kms? 10,000kms? Who else here is running SL's with no camber kit?
hi mate it will not wear as quick if you only have 17's, but if you have 19's it probably will wear quickly. You probably have FE2 height already so SL's wont be as bad as SSL's, just whack the springs in and draw a few lines across your back tyres with chalk or crayon or something and go for a spin, you should be able to judge if its leaning too much either way before your tyres are screwed.
Yeah I just have the standard 17"" SS rims. And yeah im hoping it wont be to bad with just SL's on. Just want it to sit that tiny bit lower in the rear
I have lowered or close to SL springs at my rear. I have now drove over 9000km with no camber kit. On 16" rims. Tyre wear is fine but, next week i'm going 4 point camber - 4 springs SL-UL - kyb lowered shocks - adjustable this and that for better ride and tyre wear over a longer period.

cant really tell u how long ur tyres will last really coz each car is set up different as r different makes of tyres ect...and it depends wat the camber is atm?? a simple wheel alighment read out would b able 2 tell u how bad they r. but if u eva plan 2 get a camber kit it b much easier 2 put 1 in at the same time as the springs unless u do it urself u'll save urself a bit in labour doin it twice.

Just had the shorter shocks done up front. Kills the old ones. Response to all bumps except pot holes (understandable). Steering feels great around corners. The front feels more planted and gripping. And ride is as soft as before. Actually i take speed humps faster now.
Which is what i planned to do. I did the front end work, but had to stop short as i didn't have the funds for the camber kit. So when i have the camber kit fitted, they will toss in the springs and rear shocks at the same time.
As wrx884 was saying, every car is different on how much they wear out the rear tyres. As you can see from this shot, my rears hardly look out. I have seen cars like this /---\ lol.
