VT power steering leak - at the rack??? urgent!!!

hi all, i have a power steering leak which seems to be comming from the top of the power steering rack??? ive checked all the hoses all of which are tight, and followed the leak up to the top of the rack where the steering rod goes down into it....is it a seal thats busted? if so can i replace it or how do i rectify the problem?

anybody else come across this problem before?

Hi mate, i am having the exact same leak from the exact same spot, a lot of fluid leaking from the top of the rack where the steering shaft enters the rack body. Very loose orange seal on top. Makes no sense as to why the seal is so loose... Please let me know asap if you found out what the problem was.

mines the same, i reckon the orange seal is just a dust seal not the actual pressure seal, was gonna go to a bearing and seal specialist and see if u can get a kit for the rak and pinion, otherwise might have to remove the whole unit, strip the topseal out if possible and get it matched, rather a $10 seal than a whole new unit.
