Wind and engine noise in cabin,help!!!!!!!!

need help in locating wind and engine noise coming into the cabin from the dash area??? noise is not bad at standstill but on accelarting becomes louder and more constant.you can hear engine noise and a wind sound but when you turn vents off no air is being blown through vents just the noise,all vents work when you turn the mode switch for a/c and i have checked the valves at the back of the a/c controls in the centre of the dash???? help......

are all grommets still in the firewall? none fallen out?

would appear to be,any idea how many ther should be?

dunno, a few, just look for and holes where one may have been. look under the guards as well, i think theres a hole or 2 behind the inner guard where water and crap can get in if theres holes without grommets etc..

also not to jinx you touch wood but looking in where your wipers arms are there could be rust in there my old xf doen the same thing and it was rust although is unlikely for a later miodel car but you never know

i took out a few grommets to put my sub power lead through.. and i cant hear anything so best bet is too start elsewhere
