Gearbox clunk noise

As you probably know my gearbox has no second gear, which I am used to, but about a week or two ago something new happened.

Sometimes it clunks after I put it into Drive then acts like the handbrake is partially on. I can drive it but it's takes more accelerator to go. If I put it in N then back to Drive a few times it clunks again and everything is ok for the day.

What's going on?

im no mechanic man but first off check your fluids and replace the at filter!?

Just curious to know what the noise is. So I can sell it off or something.

Seriously, if my gearbox was at the point where a whole gear was missing, I wouldn't be asking any deep questions about it's performance, I'd just get a new one on there ASAP!

yeah, thats what I am doing, new box should be here at the end of this week. But it ran perfect without second since I have had it, 4 months, now this has happened, just a little weird. I'd think it should have been doing this all along if a bit of second gear was the culprit.

Anyway thanks for looking, was really just seeing if anyone has had this happen before, coz the auto transmission guy isn't really good a diagnosing.
