    Default Extractors Size Please comment

    Hi there all
I am looking at buying Extractors for my vt v6
    Just a question
    Some sellers sell 2 inch outlet....Some sell 2 1/4.....And some sell 2 12 inch
I asked a seller That sells the 2 inch outlets
Can you make a 2 1/2 inch outlet?? They say if its 2 1/2 inch its to close to the steering rack
But i saw pacemakers are 2 1/2 inch so..Surely these would sit a safe amount away from steering rack??

Also How wide is the standed y peice????
Do you guys normaly change the y peice to suit the size of the outlet of extractors??
Has anyone fitted these???Holden VT-VY V6Commodore Stainless Extractor Header New - eBay Extractors, Exhausts, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 13-Jul-10 10:38:19 AEST)
    Please any comments Welcome

The muffler place proberly doesn't want to make this size or something...

Or even worse they import it from china..and they only sell one size

    One more question
Did you just use the standerd y peice???? 2 1/4 inch????
Or did you get new y peice 2 1/2 inch?????
    Cheers

Most extractors come with a flange join and supply a loose flange to weld to the existing Y piece so it doesn't really matter what size you get in that case. Some other brands have a 2" outlet that is flared to go over the existing Y piece.

I would recommend 2" outlets as the Y piece is 2" and you will lose too much exhaust velocity going 2 1/2" outlets. If it was super charged, bigger is better, but on an NA engine size does indeed matter, but smaller is better than larger.

The primary pipe? 1 1/2" would be the standard size for most extractors and will do the job.
