VT Cruise control drops in and out.

Hey guys,

The cruise control in my VT drops in and out. I have replaced the indicator stalk, although it was doing this with the old stalk too.

Will sometimes turn on and sometimes not. also drops out when cruise is engaged.

Any ideas??

Check your brake lights. People who put LED tail lights in have on occasion found the cruise no longer works so it's a possibility.

Does the cruise have a separate brake switch or does it use the same one as the brake lights?

Have the factory taillights so not LED's.

what should i be checking?? I have noticed at night that the brake lights only come on when the pedal travels an inch or so.

Just that they're working. ie no blown globes.
I'm not confident it's the problem, just an easy to check suggestion.

well at least urs drops in and out mine dont even work when i put mine on lol all globes work though

my abs used to drop out every now and then for absolutely no reason at all, turned out it was a faulty abs module, it was telling car low trac for a split second, quick enough that i wouldnt even see it, but would make the cruise control stop

Have u adjusted ur brake light activator switch above the pedal??

I have the same problem i just did climate control conversion with loom and now since i have done this my cruise control wont work ,it work fine with my other dash in it but has somthing to do with my dash as i am not getting power to the brake switch b ,they are normally closed when foot is not on the brake so i am guessing if i put 12 v to that it might start working , my problem is that the body loom i put in is a abs loom and my car dont have abs so i am guessing its got somthing to do with that tell the dash low traction etc, telling the car not to engage cruise control i will take a photo of the switch when i have a play but it is supposed to tell cruise control to engage, will update hopfully on the weekend with my findings.
