hey guys just got a vt 99 executive its got nearly 320000 on the clock, runs good and nothing wrong with it so far just wondering how many years ill be looking at having it for if i drive it for about an hour a day and if eventually it would be worth putting a low km engine in it ( price ways) or upgrading to something newe
if you treat your car good.. it will treat you goodmost of the time anyway
how much you pay for it?
I just put a deposit on a VT Commodore Executive, 2000, 5sp manual, 2 1/2 straight through, performance chip, 17" alloy rims, basic sound system,133***k for $6200.
mate i got a fully recon engine for mine fitted from gem engines up here in brissie for just under 3500 that was also including new engine mounts and other bits and pieces, from the bottom up to the heads, only thing they keep of your old engine is the valet cover and shit
wow.. you did well liam!
yeah i would save up the 3500 for a reco.. just so you know your gonna actually get to places ahah
or save up 4000 for a used ls1 or ls2![]()
Thanks mate. Only took me two weeks to find it too! There isn't much manual Holden Commodores in Townsville in my price range so I was lucky![]()
These motors will keep on going as long as you do the right thing by them with servicing. Personally I'd prefer to buy a rebuild kit and rebuild the existing motor if/when it does give any troubles if I was in your shoes.
