Yeah mate do tell. How many kms? Auto or manual? What other mods? It looks very nice and clean, but $9k on a V6 VT HSV lookalike? You can buy a VT SS for that, from a dealership!

It is indeed a VX, done 130,000, very good condition inside, sounds nowhere near stock. I'm not great with cars but its quite loud and sounds great. Ill try get a vid up of the exhaust note when I can get hold of a camera.

    Also, its an auto.

I wish I knew cars, no idea whats been done to it. My dads mate took it for a spin and said its definitely a bit faster than normal, he hasnt actually looked under the hood though. Does it make a difference that i bought it from a car yard and not private?

My dad bought it while I was at work. He did look under just to see it was clean and in working condition.

Wow man!! You (or your dad) bought a car from a DEALER without properly having the engine looked at or even knowing any mods that been done?!!. You are a game boy is all I can say. Dealerships are great at making shit engines LOOK good just to move the car to people like you who dont know anything about them. Its quite possible its fine, Im just saying you've taken a risk. lol. Coming from a dealer explains the price a little i guess. It looks good mate. But in all likely hood, my guess will be the only mod it has is a cat back exhaust (a $4-500 mod you could do yourself and offers no power gain) Which is another thing dealers like a car having, because young people will say 'wow, it sounds great, it must go well, Ill take it'

Soz man but 9k without doing your homework first? Low k's are a good start but to go off "it seems in good nick" and "it sounds tuff"?! Dealerships are in it for the money, not for your benefit. Get the car checked top to bottom and go from there. Buy a decent service manual if you aren't familiar with this model so you can understand what is what.

wow what a stereotype macca86... i work for a dealership and yes there it in for the money, but this is how the process works... they have the mechanics check it over and if they are gonna make a good profit including what ever needs done to it they will fix everything if not they wholesale it

you could have done a bit better makka.. my 5spd s2 vx has 160 thou... exhaust including extractors.. cold air intake... leather intertior and full ss body kit was only 10k

but never mind.. you have a sweet looking commi, better then some other shitbox right

Stereotypes are there for a reason. Generally because they are statistically correct.....

I work at a car dealership as well. LOL. Hence why I know what goes on. Yes we fix any major problems that will cause the engine to blow up in another 5000kms, but as you said, its a money making business. If the repairs bill for smaller things takes it to close to the profit line... then its 'forget about it, we can just tidy that up enough for sale'. lol. Dodgy as all hell but thats how it works in 80% of dealerships. Car dealers best friends are armor all, degreaser and bottles of 'Engine Stop Smoke'. LOL
By all means to the OP, your car definately looks nice (I love the VX HSV kit), and $9k is prob what most dealers would put on it. Just privately you prob would have picked it up fair bit cheaper. The lows kms is good though
