Default Idiots at the carwash broke my fuel flap

Will be meeting their manager tomorow morning. What p***es me off is that the attendants didnt even offer an apology or compensation. Just kept mum, and even asked me to pay for the work.

They kept your mum? I would be asking for her back if it was my mum.

Hey make sure you mention fair trading and shit like that if you know the right words to say im sure the manager will compensate u if u dont know what ur talkin about he wont. Tell him you will lodge a complaint with the CTTT (Consumer Trade and Tenancy Tribunal) which is the court for fair trading good luck man. Suck it to the prick. Oh and dont take a car wash for reimbursement lol.

By the way try to remember that there is a big sign stating that they are not responsible for anything that goes wrong basically so have a read of it first you wont miss it (if your looking for it lol). Just state that there was not a problem until they were negligant with it like say they were rough with it. Otherwise he will try to say it was on its way out before it broke or he will even try and say it fell off.

It all ended well. The manager fully compensated me for a brand new fuel flap, the cost of the painting and the installation. The car wash technicain was promptly fired as he had a history of 'accidents' with other people's cars.

The manager was very apologetic and did his best to make sure I was happy.

I accepted his apology, drove off and never returned to that place again.

The fuel flap was securely closed but he admitted that he was trying to get to the inside by prying it open. IMO some cars you can open their fuel flap when it is in the 'off' position and engine not running. Broke it cleanly in half, I have the photos but I cant upload them here.
But it ended up well for me, got compensated and I only had to spend a little more time to get it painted and installed.

Glad to hear it worked out well for you mate.

Never understood why so many VT/VX's were missing their fuel flaps. After purchasing my VX I now know why. Any reason why Holden cheaped out when it came to the design of these? I get nervous eveytime I have to fill up as I'm kinda a clumsy guy and I'm worried I will bump into it while open and snap the thing off.

yeah i have the same feelings when it comes to that fuel flap. very cheap and nasty plastic, I always thought that people were trying to extract vx drivers fuel when i saw one missing, but now i realise, that they are just plastic

"I accepted his apology, drove off and never returned to that place again. "

Well blacknight, you should go back and give him more business, because it was not the managers fault what happened to your cover. He apparently, as you say, did all he could to remedy the problem which you happily accepted. Support the people who support you!
