if your buttons are worn out on your key head,go on ebay type in seller key buttons.he sells the buttons for $5 there easy to put in and work better then the originals!!!!!!
sure they work just as good but dont seal against moisture ad other such contaminates as good as factory causing issues with the circuit. Tried them multiple times got about 4 months roughly then the key stopped working, or started playing up.

^^ Yep. As above. Id rather just spend $80 (here in Bathurst anyway) and get full new unit
ahh ok no worries i have only just fitted them,
holden wanted sh!t loads to programe the new key head for my cluby,
looks like ill need one in 4months lol.
How much did they want to do it? Here in Bathurst any locksmith will replace the central locking piece for $80 (using the metal key part from old key) or $110 inc a new metal part being cut. And that includes them walking out to your car to program it. Only takes about 1 min.
i went to holden its self didn't know lock smiths could supply and program them.
now i know that ill get a spare key made, holden wanted around 280 that was awhile a go though.
do you know any place in Sydney that can get them done for $110??
Personally I dont mate (as Im from bathurst) but im pretty sure post of those locksmith places in shopping centres can cut them, and they give you the intructions on how to program it (its just a simple combination of switching on and off for X amount of seconds etc)
sorry to hi jack but does anyone know if my old keys from my old car can get tuned to my new car? (i swapped the heads over already)
Hit the star under this post if it was any help to you =D
sorry mate once the key has be introduced to the car that's it, cant be reprogrammed unfortunately.
i could get you a new key head from work cheap but you would still need to get it coded to suit your car, depending were you go some will just do it for you an some will charge a small fee,,

iv had those cheaper buttons in my key for over a year.. no problems at all except you have to push down a bit firmer... what do you peoples do with your keys? lol take em swimming?
You should be able to put a thin smear of silicone on the buttons before you put them in so they are sealed. Use neautral cure silicone so it doesnt cause any corrosion inside the key.
What you also have to remember is the average lifetime of the key is roughly 4 years an once the battery goes flat thats, it wont unlock the car or start the car..

I got some buttons off eBay and havent had any problems![]()
I've bought four sets of the buttons from the eBay seller in Northern Queensland for various cars in the family and I couldn't be happier.
Very easy and quick to fit, work well, very fast delivery and a nice bloke to deal with.
This might sound a bit like an advertisement for the product, but it's not.
Just comments from a very satisfied customer.
My key has been operating for over 6 months with no silicon buttons on there, I just get my finger down into the remote. Hasn't failed yet. Damn I'm cheap, LOL.

Them be some fighting words. LOL.
I used to own a EB 'S Pack' as my last car, and I'm not ashamed to say it was a good car. Was an awesome car for towing.

lol a locksmith in sydney called cambridge locksmith sold me a new key casing with the buttons for $22.. pryed the old ones apart and put the new one together. there only new and from the US as they have a chev badge on the back of the key instead of a holden badge.. gave me an extra 20hp hahahaha
I have recently bought buttons off ebay and have had problems! 1. You need a HOBBY style razor blade to cut out old rubber buttons(or whats left) which not many people have and was reasonably hard to find(DARWIN), So that was another trip out.(Not a complaint but wish I knew b4 hand)
2. My battery keeps going flat and unlocking my car which i can only associate with the new buttons. I took a mm of the nib but currently await my gf to come home so I can jump my baby. The car might get a look in 2...LOL
