    Default Buying a Repairable write-off?

    Hi guys,
Im currently looking at purchasing a vu ute with hail damage (a repairable write-off) for $6K. It is not an ss but has a vy ss bodykit. I have been told it will need to be raised to get pass roadworthy and requires a new bonnet (more of a cosmetic issue). It also requires a viv, im guessing im going to be up for about an extra $2k by the time i get a new bonnet, viv, tyres and registered. Overall im looking roughly $8k for a vu s pak ute. do you think its worth it or just stick to buying my mrs. a hyundai excel?

    p.s. I really want a ute!

utes do hold their value more over the sedans so i guess u could consider that. but they r all coming down in price so u could get a V8 pretty close 2 the 10k mark now days.

hail damaged cars are classed as "drivable write offs" and do not require a VIV to be done

if i were you i'd try and find same colour bonnet from a wrecker and use a paintless repair place for the roof
