Exclamation WH Statesman climate control problem

G'day guys. Hope this is the right place to be posting this, if not can one of the mods please move it to the relevant section?

Anyway, just a small problem (I hope!). Last night while driving home from work, the whole climate control system just stopped working completely. As in, the display and all of the buttons. I had the heater going nice and hot, so hopefully I've just blown a fuse.

But for the life of me I can't really work out which fuse it'd be? Unless I completely looked right over it, there doesn't seem to be any fuses marked climate control/air con/heater etc. I checked most of them while I could, but it was raining and I had my arse hanging out the side of the car so I was getting pretty wet. Was raining even harder today after work so didn't really get a chance to have a look again. All of the ones I checked though were fine.

The buttons are illuminated when the lights are on, but that's all. Nothing on the display and the button lights (air con, rear window heater and auto) don't light up when you push them. No fans or anything work.

With work I don't really have time to drop my car off to any auto electricians any time soon, so does anyone have any idea at all? What would be the relevant fuse?

Also, while I'm on here, I guess I pulled the dash display fuse and it has reset my distance, avg speed etc. I noticed on the display on the left, there's a small black x. I couldn't find anything about it in the manual. Has anyone seen this before?

Anyway, hopefully someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

X on the dash means a fault in the Climate Control system, says somewhere in the manual.

As for nothing showing on the screen, got me stumped...

Thanks for that. I had a read of it, and yeah, pretty much just says it's a fault and not much else.

I had another look today and checked whether it was the relays or anything like that, but to no avail.

Where would be the best place to take it? Auto electricians or back to a Holden dealer? Or just a mechanic even?

    Thanks.

Holden will probably be dearer but have the equipment to diagnose the problem. A lot of mechanics wouldn't have a clue about the climate control panel. You might get it sorted at an air conditioning specialist.

Hey there i have been playing around with climate control over the last 6 months and i am guessing that its a bit more drastic than that if theres nothing commin on the screen when car ignition is on i am guessing that the module has shit itself ,excuse the french i will go over my files and i will see what fuse gives it power but i am guessing it runs off the same power as the dash so if dash is running its probably been cooked, and if its not the module it could be wiring issue ,so you could take a punt and buy another of ebay and hopfully that does it ,but if your dash has a x on it means the climate control isnt present as the dash ,climate control ,bcm, abs pcm all communcate through one wire so if you wana try and power her up out of the car with a 12v power pack let me know ill giv eyou the pin outs to put some wires on to get her coming up with a display and if that dont work she gone .
