hey guys, well my cigarette lighter has come loose once again, third time since i got the car in feb, so cant use the navman/phone charger/sunroof (on the same fuse) untill it's fixed. already pulled it apart and tightened it back up again on the other occasions, but clearly it isn'nt holding. what to do???
sell ur car
haha no way man, and get what? a ford? LOL no.
lolll idont know mines loose too but i dont use it
mine is like hanging out the socket, really not cool. and it is in the most awkward place as well!!
and since the cigarette lighter and the sunroof are on the same fuse, fuse is dead because the ciggie lighter is ****ed, and thus no sunroof
so want to have it fixed asap![]()
goto a auto electrician dont b cheap :P.. i want ur rims and ur sunroof
I tend to go to family who are in the business to get stuff on the car fixed, since alot of places rip off females lol
factory sunroof and had the rims on her when i bought it :P nope, all mine
lol you dont be cheap....go get a sunroof put in haha, 1200 ish so ive heard. had to pay 200 to get mine fixed a couple months agoand that was 2nd hand parts. GRR
1200 i think ill do it myself one day. good idea lucky girl. no1 in my family knows shit all bout cars lol so i just read on here and do wat i think looks good. im swapping the rims i got for sum vy sses very soon too![]()
and not many VT's have sunroofs either, ive seen maybe 4 or 5 others, all in cars the same colour as mine, hmmm
niceyou shall have to put some pics up when you swap the rims.
i definitely will if it all comes together doing swaps is pretty hard cuz ppl are so unreliable. are u gonna do the series 2 lights and side indicators? thanks for t he add too
already put clear side indicators onjust havent put any new photos up lol. not sure about series 2 lights yet. i might, since ive got the boot garnish... performance tail lights arent really much of an option. did the grill chrome too since them photos :P
now ur gettin there haha.. wish me luck with colour coding these trolly strips hope they come out gd
haha yes have fun with that
black car = no having to colour codesee, mine clearly wins LOL
Put a bit of silicone on the nut to hold it in place
Maybe some locktite might stop it from losening. The only problem is it not really a nut that holds it into place. It doesn't have a thread on it, unlike the one on the lighter itself.
it's such an arse to actually get to the damn thing to screw it in place anyway, so it's pretty restrictive what you can do. silicon or soemthing might be the way to go, not really much else you can do i guess![]()
pull it out and put in a replacement form autobarn/supercheap/repco.
cost under $10 and the thread will be new..
it sound likes it coming out alot, this generally means that the nut holding it in place is warped or the cig lighter thread is damaged.
not very hard to replace at all...
