what manual gearbox is needed for a VT V6 conversion?

hi all i have been offered a T5 or T56 manual gearbox from a VT v6 commodore from a mate at work. he isnt 100% sure of which gearbox it is whether its a T5 or T56??? we work out of town and return home on weekends so he wont know for sure until the weekend....

also what manual gearbox would ya be looking for when doing an ecotech V6 auto to manual conversion?

just asking so i dont fork out the dosh and get the wrong box...

Hey most manual vt's come out with a Getrag box so neither t5 or t56. T56 come out of manual v8s. T5s come out of vn-vs(series1). Unless some has done the conversion like I am doing now (T5) on his car, it will have a getrag in it.

Usually V6 Vt gearbox is a getrag....
