Vt 1998 EX wont start

hi i have a vt 98 and it wont start it cranks for about a second then cuts out
battery is fine
aternator replaced 3 months ago by pre owner
Can any1 help just bought it 2 months ago

sound like an immobiliser problem, get a new key

Pretty new to commodores, been around cars for awhile tho might be wrong but it sounds like:
Key
CAS (Crank Angle Sensor)
Not Positive tho.

cheers for reply mate jumped the battery and it started didnt think it was the battery
but now its overheating small very small coolant leak waterpump was replaced 9 thou ago
could it be thermostat or rad or dodgy waterpump

The crank angle sensor will still keep cranking. Could be leaking from anywhere

where is the leak coming from? can you see it...

could be anything..

when the car is in park and idles the temp is at normal but when you select drive a pulley starts making a noise and gets louder with higher rpm
then drive 50 metres and car gets very hot
im thinking waterpump and or tension pulleys

Sound like your water pump bearing has shit itself and its not pumpng properly

wasnt the pump it was the thermostat running alot cooler but temp goes to halfway then drops and goes up again
i must have air getting in somewhere
