gday everyone
might be a weird question, but how much work is actually involved in fitting new shocks/springs?
ive got a VXII with the factory FE2 set up... which is fine for grand dad, but i wanna drop it a wee bit lower...
im reasonably mechanically minded, so is it really that hard as a DIY job, or better to spend the $$$ and get someone else to do it??
cheers for ur 2 cents!!!!
simon
If you have spring compressors and a decent array of spanners, then no, it's not too hard at all.
You may have to change your strut top bearing on your front strut while you are at it as they usually go, also the mount if it is worn.
Get a VT Workshop manual, do a search in this forum (top right of page - google custom search)if you don't know where to find one, then you will fly through it.
Also, welcome to the forum!
hey jazz,
thx for the info, i didnt think about the spring compressors... the rest wouldnt be a problem tho haha
im unsure about how low i wanna go, will ultimately depend on the wheel size i end up fitting
thx for the tip about the manual via the search bar, i'll definately use that!!!
thx for the welcome!!! i havent remembered to introduce myself yet lol
