hey guys im in progress of installing electric windows into my vx executive and was wondering what relays i need in the fuse box area i know which slot, but dont know what needs to go in and plus do i need all of the door looms in puls motors to see if they work as i only have 2 in and want to see if it works
cheers in advance jay
You can test each window individually. Only thing is you can't test the rear windows without the switches on. As for the relays, I can check for you tomorrow if I remember but it's bloody cold out there right now.
VX2 Executive Sedan - 3.8L Auto (for now)VT SS Sedan - Supercharged V6 Auto (Genuine L67 SS)VN SS Sedan - 5.0L 5 Speed Manual (Currently Balga spec waiting for panel and paint)
theres two relays from memory. one is a slim silver relay sits above the power seat relay & the other is a square black relay just above that to the right a little. both are located in the fuse box in the car. i think thats it. one question though,if you have an executive you should already have all looms, relay slots etc installed from factory,so all you need is relays, regulators & switches. one of my car is a vt executive & i have checked because i was going to install electrics as well, everything required is there apart from the regs, relays & switches.
well my exec doesnt and im 100% sure compared them and diff aswell not as many wires etc. its just i dont know if they working cuz i need these relays, so where would i have to go to get these relays? holden dealer or aurobarn? cheers jay.
Holden, repco, autobarn any place like that will have them
Hey there i take it your doing thing to an exec some do some dont have the wiring there if you have the wiring there will be the unused plug where the main window switch is if it not there theres no loom but a lot do have them ,also you will need to swap to a medium bcm with keyhead and pcm that are linked or you can get a bcm an dget it linked by holden to the pcm but you will need to get keys match to it ,now if you dont wana go threw the hassle of getting all that done you can bypass the bcm to make the front windows go down if you dont bypass it the drivers window wont go down as it runs through the bcm an da low dosent support electric windows but med level bcm do , when bypassing the bcm you will loose the automatic down function which is controlled by the bcm but i did it to myn and and i dont care about the auto down as its a pain in the ass in cold weather i just like to put myn down a bit to let some fresh air in. You will also need all the door looms as they wont have the wires for electric window regs and switches in the rear.
if you wont to know how to bypass the bcm for drivers window email me bhopperr@hotmail.com and ill send you some diagrams on which wires need to be cut and joined.
does anyone know what relays to get is it the same as whats already in there?
hey jay ones a relay and the silver one is a circuit breaker so i am guessing holden would be your best bet or wreckers should have some if you wana ring holden and see how much they are do that and if there 2 expensive ill have a look through my spares and you can buy them off me if you wont if i dont have any i will go to my mates wreckers he will have some where abouts are you located. Also if there are pins in the relay box for the windows you will have the main loom .
cheers chris
yeah mate ive got evything now went up to holden and got all the shit its all working now just waiting on them pics from you as they didnt come through the email you sent me, also i never relised how much water comes through the top of the door as i had my door trims off when washed car, is this normal?
