can anyone tell me if the vy auto gearbox will fit straight in the vt ?????
According to my Max Ellery's VT VX VY workshop manual, both VT and VY have the 4L60-E auto fitted. Both use the ecotec engine so I would say there should be no problem using the VY auto in the VT. If there are any minor design differences, use the VT bits off your old gearbox.
does that mean i can fir a vy ecotech engine into my vx as a drop in motor (no loom mods or crossmember etc. mods)
considering changing my motor over to another one as i think ive done my headgasket.. should really fix my headgasket before it fully lets go..
aazn, the VY V6 should go in the VX with no major dramas as the workshop manual, the same manual (Max Ellery's) says they are the same but again, look for any differences before you go ahead. The alloytec V6 was the major change between the VY and VZ. Near as I can tell, everything is different on the alloytec, even the starter motor is different. But who was talking about VZs? As for the sump etc, they also look the same.
yeahh, VT, VX and VY motor and box are all same as far as I know.
I put a vy manual box in my vx but the loom from the vy was different and wouldnt fit into a vx....
