    Default vt ss alarm not working

    hi,just brought 1999 vt ss and found out the alarm is really quiet,the lights go off and you can hear a faint siren but thats it,any help on how i can make it louder?thanks

    Sorry i can't help you
    But i just installed a aftermarket alarm..Siren is not that loud...Was thinking connecting a police siren or something of that nature

    Hi there is it factory alarm or aftermarket could be the siren not getting a good earth, no rags stuffed in it is there as i have done that in the past to quieten them down when testing them ,you could always get another one from electrical store jaycar dicksmith etc.

    hey mate some also come with a key to turn the siren down/off see if you have a funny shaped key on the keys,if not sirens are cheap as chips.

    Yeh mines a cheap one got it $250 fitted.....Just need to get some more sound out of this

    thanks for the replies,just had a look at it looks like it has a key hole on it but to my luck dont have the key to it,think i might just have to buy a new one,thanks for the help

    If i were you i would open it up and disable the key swicth.....Maybe just me but if somethings not working i like to open the internals and see if i can fix it..
    Or if its a well know brand maybe you can just buy the siren with new key??
