Hey there people
I have been having a few issues with my 99 VT (its just a basic V6 with 350k on the clock... exactly at the time of this post lol, nothing special) and was wondering if there were any car whisperers here who could tell me the source of my individual woes.
the woes:
1On start up the engine kind of bogs and stalls unless i feather the throttle on and off and get the RPMs up. If i do not do this and i just restart it and let it run for a little bit (till idle stablises) it will bog on taking off - feels like no power and it wants to stall, though if i blip the throttle and get the RPMs up it doesnt do it again. the real kicker.... only does it on first start of the day after its been sitting at least overnight.
2While cruising and while accellerating in top gear (auto) i can get a stutter, like the car is missing, but this only happens at around 1,500RPM. once you get it to kick down it is perfectly fine. and it doenst always do this.
3Handbreak- doesnt hold itself on, feel like the rachet lock thing inside has chewed itself out.
4Thermo fan doesnt turn on, pulled the plug to trip the circut
now for 1 i was thinking some kind of epic doom scenario that comes with engine age, though it only does it on dead cold starts, this leads me to the thought of head gasket, but it doesnt have any water in the oil.
for 2 i was thinking some kind of electrical leak though these tend to happen whilst the load is high and not low so that kind of rules that out, which brings me to fuel, possibly i have an injector that is dirty and thus its minimum cycle sometimes doesnt work too well?
for 3, is there an adjustment i can make, or will swapping the whole handbrake assembly be needed?
number 4 is either the thing i unpluged on the thermostat or a relay, where is the relay and what is it more likely to be, the thermo thing or the relay?
thoughts and input appreciated
and yea i may end up goin the new engine route after i pickup a bike to get to and from work on
