brand doesn't really make much difference, except for visual or label appeal. The benefits of RAMJET over other OTRs hasn't really been noted very much by independant sources, ie forum members so in my opinion the $650 for one isn't justified. I'd say options are really between type of material
1. Aluminium - pro: good strength and appearance, minimal air resistance due to smoother surface, con: higher heat transferrance although looses heat quicker
2. Plastic - pro: better shapes and can be better fitting, less heat transferrance, con: can deform and get sucked inwards, can even melt if it's cheap and nasty, retains heat longer than metal
3. Fibreglass - pro: generally stronger than plastic so won't deform, generally least conductive of heat and doesn't retain it long, con: not as flexible as plastic so can break easily if hit hard by something (bonnet)
1. Aluminium $400-$600 - generally most expensive, but almost always top quality
2. Plastic $100-$400 - often the cheapest, but also the worst quality when buying a cheap plastic kit
3. Fibreglass $200-$400 - usually same price range as plastic, but often not finished well inside causing more parasite air resistance
honestly, eBay is your friend and you can often get a good shaped aluminium OTR for the same price as a plastic/fibreglass one. I recommend getting one from someone who asks what type of bonnet you have and will cater for genuine Monaro bonnets because they actually measure gaps. They may be a little more expensive than the dime a dozen ugly ones, but they will fit so much better.
Any way you go, you'll need a mafless tune because OTR with a MAF is just silly
