Default Power cut out while driving

    Hi everyone

Driving my daughter to school this morning, the power completely shut off for about 2 seconds, then restarted by itself. All the dash lights lit up, but only the battery light stayed on.

The car (V6 VT) starts with no trouble. Checked the special functions on the trip computer - while driving the battery voltage was 11.7.

Any ideas? We are thinking there could be a problem with the alternator, but would that cause the power to shut off the way it did?

    Thanks

It's all secure, although the terminals were a little loose. They have been tightened, but the battery light is still on.

Yeah, I'll have to get it checked ASAP.

For the special functions, hold down the MODE and UP buttons while starting the car.

Just had the alternator checked. Apparently it's stuffed.
