Hi Guys, First Timer Here!
I hope anyone may have some suggestions please *crosses fingers*
VX Aclaim Series 2.. Took to Midas for a major service which was due. But had no prior complaints before hand.
Come back and the car backfires, which i guess is normal for gas conversions on the commodores, they tell me. The guy that i have ordered two new air boxes from, that is... and a third due to be ordered as its blown again today!!
The fuel pump fuse i believe is a 20 amp fuse which keeps blowing also which is another issue, which might somehow be related to the fact my car won't convert back to petrol anymore!!!! ???? wtf!!!
I have tried replacing the relay switch, to no avail.. still blows the fuse.
Please anyone, do you have a clue all that i must do to fix these problems.
Next thing I will do is check the fuel pump itself, and go through the wiring...
Any other ideas??
Backfiring does happen on the older mixer-style setups, although common it's not "normal" - it just means something is wrong. Could be something simple like dodgy ignition leads. Not sure what the fuel pump issue is and how that affects it. My best suggestion is take it to an LPG specialist (not just a "standard" mechanic or auto electrician) and get them to diagnose the fault first, preferably one who installs the same brand equipment your car has (i.e. Impco, SprintGas, etc).
Hi, I have another car running LPG, not a commodore, and it has recently started having the fuel pump fuse blow as well for no reason. I was told that it could be some faulty wiring near the fuse pump, so if you can, try replacing the fuel pump.
Let me know how you go with it.
