VT - Non-eurovox replacement CD stacker?

Hey all, long time reader, first time poster

The stacker in my VT calais E99'ed a while back (as they all do), and I thought Id finally get around to fixing it.

Has anyone successfully replaced the stacker with something else other than the original rubbish? I imagine it wouldnt be difficult given the right harness.

The alternative is I might grab the stacker out and pull it apart and see what I find. If I do, Ill post pics

Better yet, has anyone fitting a double DIN CD/MP3/whatever player and managed to get the steering wheel buttons to work?

Currently doing the same thing in my vt, but instead I'm installing dvd player you can get an adapter to use the steering wheel controls but I'm not phased

I emailed one (ebay) vendor because they claim to support the wheel controls, but I couldnt see the inputs for it on their harness.

I like the wheel controls, you can use them without taking your eyes off the road.

try pulling it apart and making sure the whole mechanism is not just jammed its happened to mine a couple of times. just turned the gears by hand then put it back in reset the player and it worked perfect again
