    Question Dash Surround Colours?

    Hi all,

Looking at changing the dash surround colour of my VX S. Went to my local Holden Dealer to see what colours were available as I'm after a silver finish (very common in VX SS Commodores).

This is a list of the colours that are available...

    Steel
    Bronze
    Yellow
    Greystone
    Pewter
    Anthracite?
    Charcoal

After explaining to the spare parts guy what colour I was after, he order "Steel" which wasn't close at all. I gave him the VIN of several cars with the silver dash surround that I'm after and he then tells me it's "Yellow". How is it "Yellow" I ask myself? But I go along with it as he's the expert. It turns up today and surprise, surprise, it's a dark metallic yellow!

The spare parts guy assures me it's not Pewter, he believes that Pewter is black in colour. I find that hard to swallow as Pewter to me is silver, not black. And he tells me Pewter is not an option on SS anyway.

Pretty sure mine is Charcoal at present (Dark grey metallic in colour) and Anthracite is maybe black.

Does anyone have any pics of what colours Greystone and Pewter dash surrounds are as I'm sure it maybe one of these colours that I after?

    Thanks in advance.

anthracite is grey, all base models have that colour up till vx series 1.

easiest thing to do would be to take yours out and get it sprayed any colour you want at a crash shop or give ti a go yourself... its really easy to do with some decent pressure pack cans and the right preparation

    or ebay...http://cgi.ebay.com.au/vt-vx-holden-...ts_Accessories

Mate antracite is not grey! Antracite is black and pewter is the silver. Holden employees need to get off here high horses sometimes because some have no clue at all!

With the introduction of the Series II model range, grey-toned interiors are now finished in the darker shade of Anthracite.
    quoted off there ...
    Holden VX Commodore / Calais

my bad, the other way round to what i said....the public wouldnt know what holden calls it in its release bulletins cos they dont see them, colours get changed but the name stays the same, its pretty confusing to keep up with when models change

and TUF-VP, no need to have a stab at someone whos trying to help, thats pretty low

I was only having a stab because the people that give the information to the public are representing Holden in most cases and they have all the info on a pc in front of them and don't take the time to research. Well thats from my experiences anyway.

    Thanks Peanuts and TUF-VP.

If it is Pewter, I'm not going to be happy!

I found the part no. for the SS Silver dash facia which is 92090737. I'll pass this number onto Holden and if it shows on their computer as Pewter....Hmmm...!

    Thanks again guys.
