Default What else is needed to complete exhaust system.

hey guys, sorry if this has already been covered but ive been on here for like 4 hours and havent found what i lookin for.

HOLDEN VT-VY SEDAN 2&1/2 inch BOLT ON EXHAUST SYSTEM - eBay Exhaust Systems, Exhausts, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 23-Aug-10 21:51:30 AEST)

welll here we go. I bought this Lukey exhaust system (above) and im just waiting for it to come in, now im not the smartest when i comes to exhausts but this exhaust has one single muffler, true? what im wanted to get out of this is, what can i add to this system to get the best sound and performance out of it? like adding high-flow cats, or hotdogs?

really need to no so i can organise things so when it arives i can set it all up

    cheers, Brad

Going to need some way for it to connect to the cat.

with the hotdog, do you just cut out the rear resi and replace it with one?

That system only has one muffler.
I suggest getting it fitted at a shop as it will need to either be welded directly to or flanged to the back of the cat.
See if you like the sound (will take some time and a few heat cycles to break the muffler in anyway) then if you want to mellow it out, you can get a hotdog fitted at the rear later on.

    HUH????

It has a flange and the correct bell flare to bolt straight to the cat.

The Lukey system is probably a bit quieter than most so it should sound pretty good as is. If you want to go louder, get a high flow cat and extractors. But performance wise, you won't notice much. A bit better acceleration and better highway economy.

Fitting a hotdog will only make it quieter as it is just a resonator.

I checked out that pic again and spotted the flare, all good.

The Lukey tri flow muffler should be all you need.
