hi all, I recently bought a vt executive second hand it has a v6 ecotech . It needed a new auto trans. The old one only drove in first and reverse. Anyway I changed the auto and when I started it it sounded like the starter wasnt in properly and the teeth on the starter or ring gear was stripping. I took out the starter to find that the thin metal bash plate between bell housing and where it bolts up had bent and was rubbing the flex plate.
When I went to start it again it the battery was pretty flat and starter made some horrible noises and wouldnt turn over. I dissconnected the battery and recharged it and now when I go to start it, It is just dead but all dash lights etc do go on.
I tried the paper clip pinout and all I get is 12 so there is no extra info there and I did try leaving the key in the on position for an hour to no avail.
So I was wondering if there is a fuse or something else I could try before a new starter or getting a new key programmed.
Any help and suggestians would be greatly appreciated.
well it was the starter motor for anyone who read this and was wondering
what was cost to fix
