What size are they?
I want to source some plugs and say goodbye to the POS.
thanks
Get the holes flushed over and painted. The rubber grommet look is a bit tryhard imo and reaks of half arsedness.
Maybe sell your boot and replace with an executive item.If the path is of utter importance straight away the Clark Rubber or such stores will stock them, local auto should aswell.
most spare places stock bolt in grommets/plugs for putting in radio aerial holes. these would do the trick but not look to flash
it is still going to look like shite
you can actually do something better than tape or plugs
use sime tape under the holes and get your trusty soldering iron out start out by dropping solder on to the tape and gradually as it builds dip the soldering iron in to the blob you have made ,it will heat the area up BUT not enough to damage the paint ....should be able to get it to look better than just crappy plugs ! then just use some touch up paint
The reason Im dumping it is because it is broken and rattles, and the paint has crapped itself as well..... not to worry though, because the shite paint will match the back bumper as well :S
Trust me, the plugs would be an improvement.
Id get it resprayed, but Ill be damned if Im gonna drop thousands into a VT-II Calais![]()
Mate, just go to any auto shop and look for champion stand , you looking for blanking grommets , part no BH018 , 3/8 size and has 4 in a pack , but you need 5 grommets
hope this help
solder it even a bodge spray, cut and polish with some clear will look better and they wont charge thousands for a boot spray any way . even a touch up guy could paint it after you solder it
Getting it professionally done wont be thousands, and you could properbly get the bumper done at the same time... give your car abit of value back.
Someone already mentioned it. For the time being go to a shop that has the champion stand and get the grommets. Will cost you MAX ten bucks for a pack. Then later on you can always take the spoiler to get it resprayed and take out the grommets. I reckon that solder is even more bodgy?
awww this hurts me to see people talking about putting rubber in holes why dont u just go all the way and polyeurathane it... no that was a joke. why dont u just go down to bunnings or mitre 10 and grab yourself a little tube of plasti bond which comes in a package with hardener, it takes 3 seconds to mix, dries like metal in about 5 to 10 minutes depending on how thick u cake it on then sand it and go down to your local spare parts place and get em to match u up a pressure pack of your colour (u will find the colour code on your VIN plate unless there is a seperate plate on the other side of your firewall) and grab a pressure pack of auto clear and bam your vt is nice again, u could then use whats left of the colour match to do your bumper and all of this will probably cost u about 50 bux if that

just make it permanent with some sandpaper and body filler!
jw, dont laugh, my dad use to solve rust holes on his HK wagon with a tube of sealant and things like bolts that fit into the hole
The problem is, if I get the boot/bumper/spoiler resprayed, it wont match the rest of the carId have to get the whole car resprayed, and that *will* cost thousands....
Just look in a few wreckers and get a second hand boot lid the same colour. $50 or $60, problem solved
On another note make sure you replace your parcel shelf with one with a brake light, as my canary from the weekend included the fact I didn't have an eye level brake light ( removed spoiler from vxss) and from reading Vicroads etc, theve been mandatory since the 90's. Oh and it's always good to avoid a yellow reason
