    Smile Rocker cover???

Hey guys just wondering on a VX, the rocker covers on either side of the engine what type of gasket do they have... a rubber type seal like the plenum does, or a proper gasket. Cause i wanna take the rocker covers off to degrease them and clean them up a bit. So if i were to take them off would i need to buy new gaskets and a new sealer?

There should be a couple of little tabs which are hard to see( best feel for them first). I bought aftermarket ones and they were cork style so double check first if you can!

They should be rubber. And you can reuse them unlike the plenum gasket which increases in size once removed. I would suggest replacing the rocker cover gasket though as it may cause leaks over time if you keep removing/replacing the rocker covers.

Yeah just did them, drivers side was a piece of cake... passenger side i had to take the throttle cable and the cruise control cables off, and the mounting bracket. Although the passenger side rubber did stretch and was kinda hard to get back into place. but i got it.
