Hi Guys..
Can someone help me out here please? I have a 2001 WH supercharged. I'm a touch short on cash right now and I need to replace the harmonic balancer.
I'm not silly enough to just start pulling it apart, without knowing whats involved first! Can someone tell me; is this a fairly straight forward procedure, or am I best to take it to a Mech?
I did the balancer on my LJ Tory, years ago, but modern engines are far more daunting to me!
I need to get it done ASAP. Please let me know your thoughts.
Cheers,
Mark
I did mine (a VN mind you) last night in the pouring rain. It was just one bolt and then it slides off. New engine might mean you need a balancer puller.. have a look at the balancer and see if there are (probably 3) threaded holes on the face of the balancer to attach a puller to..
It was on -very- tight, had to turn the engine over with a breaker bar wedged against the ground to break the thread on the bolt. If I had a new car I'd seriously get it done by a mechanic..
