No you won't need to change the barrel but you will need the key remote that goes with the BCM you are going to use and you will also need to have the BCM linked to the ECU with a TECH 2 or the car won't start.

or you can get away with not changing the bcm,so you dont need a tech 2. theres a post floating around here somewhere on how to do that. its up to you but it may save you a few dollars & every dollar counts these days

If youre buying a second hand BCM without remotes you will need the vin of the car it came out of to get the BCM security code or else you wont be able to program new remotes.

theres two trains of thought on here about this. the first is cutting wires etc & there is a diagram on here i think in the how to's on this. the second is my train of thought in that if when you remove the shifter surround you find the plug already there for the main window switch that you dont have to do anything at all but install the regs, door looms & switches,i have read a few times on here that this has been done with success & no problems

Yes, that's about it. That's all I needed when I converted my VT wagon.
Are the fuse and relay sockets wired up with the connectors, or are they empty sockets?

its all good, thank holden for being cheap, lol. it was easier from the factory to just go through & put virtually the same loom in all the cars made then say right this one is a base model executive with no electrics, this has electrics etc. more cost efficient to have one loom made up to cover most models than to have the company make a whole heap of different wiring looms. i know there are some model vehicles that dont have the right plugs but for those that do,putting in electric window should be a walk in the park.

not if the doors arent the same colour as the car you have, then you have to paint them which is more money than to just change the looms & regulators
