    Default Standard or Nolathane?

My VT's front caster rod bushes need replacing.
I have read that the originals are oil filled for better ride comfort.
If I replace them with urethane will it make the car ride worse - handle better.
    Current setup is FE2 factory.
Are some brands better than others
    EG: Whiteline, Pedders, Nolathane, Superpro.
Some are a black/blue colour whats with that?

There is a full set (F&R) of Nolathane bushes, strut tops on ebay for $290
I dont need most of the stuff, but for the extra $, I am thinking of getting the lot.

Changed my strut tops 3 times in 126xxx km as well as the Castor bushesF/R, Zbar bushes, sway bar & link pin.

    1. Had to use stock item for the strut tops(car was under warranty) and only lasted 35k.
    2. Next time with pedders shite for the Strut tops & Front Castor/Radius, ride was a nightmare and cost too much I thought.
    3. I did them myself, used superpro for the Strut tops/Rear castor, Link pins, sway bar & Zbar and OMFG it actually feels great and the cars ride is perfect.

Superpro over Nolathane/Whiteline over Pedders over stock... would be my choice and the price diff is marginal.

    Just my 2c...

Use Nolathane for your front castor rod bushes. They are much better than the original items and can be adjusted to give you the correct amount of castor.

I replaced mine a while ago with Nolathane bushes ( the red ones ) have a look at this write up i done on it . It was pretty sraight forward . Just one thing though , when you take off the old nuts and bushes count the number of washers that are installed . some have 2 per side and some have 2 on one side and 1 on the other side .I thought i left one of the old ones on and pulled the whole lot off again only to realise that there was 1 missing to start with . Nolathane, Whiteline or superpro will all shit it in over the stock caster rod bushes. They all do the same job the same way. No oil damping but solid urethane is the go

It will handle heaps better with Urethane but ride will be harsher. If you like performance do it. They are a bit easier to fit than rubber in a lot of places too.

the factory rubber/liquid filled bushes are crap even when they are new, there is so much movement in them, to test them drive forward in your drive way and jump on the brakes, with someone watching they will see how far back the wheel moves and when you let go of the brake they will see how far forward the wheel jumps.

i have just replaced mine with the nolathane bushes along with every other bush in the front end. Deffinitely handles better and ride is harsher, but only a little harsher. so i would def go with the nolathane ones again.

Don't go for ride comfort if you have fe2 suspension, go urethene. I agree with other posters, go rubber strut tops.

I had the caster bar/radius rod bushes replaced in my VX SS with Superpro, first thing I noticed was how good and positive the car felt on the road, big improvement, I was a bit concerned about the ride/comfort side of things, but to be honest I don't think it has made much difference to the ride, maybe a tad firmer but not much difference at all.

Price would be comparable to Genuine Holden engine mounts.

soon as though everyones discussing bushes and stuff... i have a question, i swear by nolathane only because its all i have ever used, i stick with what i know and an enhancement kit is to expensive just to experiment with haha but i was offered an enhancement kit for a vs cheap as chips, i was curious as to wether or not they would fit in a vn, i cant see anything that would be different like bush wise... does anyone know any different? or should i just buy it and find out the hard way...
