On Friday my v6 vt started over heating the gage would go up rapidly over 80km but the heat would reduce rapidly when I slowed down. I have changed the themostate & done a full flush several times & replaced with high quality coolant. The car gage sits lower now but It still stays over heated quickly, but it doesnt go up and down rapidly it just climbs & stays there. There is a leak but I cant find where its coming from just see coolant on the ground although i have inspected the water pump and it appears fine. When I squeeze the bottom hose the radiator cap makes an air noise. Could the cap cause over heating and loss of colant when car is off? All I can think of is a problem with the radiator or the head gasket? There is no bubbles in the radiator... Im clueless. Please any advice.
Cheers,
Josh
A leaking radiator cap can cause problem because the system can't pressurize properly, replace it. Also have you bled the system properly to ensure you have no air bubbles in the system?
