Anyone converted vt/vx to vy dash?

I can get my hands on a cheap vy dash and would be keen as mustard to have my interior looking like that rather than the vt style.
Just wondering if anyone has done it and if they have was it hard and is there anything that i need to know.

Does everything work correctly? trip meter gauges and so on correct?

I've asked and had a look around, answer is simply... its hard... the looms are very different, and would require a massive splice job... but is do-able and has been done before on these forums... another route is to use the corresponding VY looms... but that is alot of work in itself... plus, will need to match your engine/tranny configuration...

ah stuff it then, i was hoping it would have been a bit of plug and play with work the same plugs and so on but na not gonna spend that much time doing that crap.

i dont think it would be that hard. the easier option is just to get a complete vy loom & chuck it in. e.g if you have a v8 get a v8 loom,computer etc & just swap them over. with a bit of time & patience anything is possible

If it's just the dash you want to change then I've seen this done with keeping the vt,vx cluster, that would save a lot of wiring work but if you want to change the cluster then I hope you know a good sparky cause I think it would be a nightmare.
