what rpm for idle?
my cars abit rought on idle was just wondering what it should be on?
There should be a placard in the engine bay to the front right, looking down the car, it will have RPM's for man/auto... also will say so in the handbook.
For the ecotec 6 it should be a 1000 rpm.
Arent we talking about the Auto?!

How hard can it be?
It's not uncommon for VT's to idle between about 600 and 1000 in N. Obviously Manual will vary but Auto mine sits at about 900. If by "rough" you mean there is vibration, could be worn engine mounts, that was the problem with mine, got them replaced it's like sitting on a cloud now :P
