    Default Low beams not working

Hey guys, got a strange problem with my headlights. First click, (parkers) works fine. Next click, (low beam) dont work but If I push the highbeam stalk forward and turn the dial to the lowbeam position, everything works ( every globe in the headlight)

Ive checked the relays and fuses but cant seem to figure it out. I bought the car like this so I dont know if they ever worked.

    Any ideas?

    EDIT: car is a VT

Have you tried another relay? I know you said you checked it, but thats seriously what it sounds like to me.

I tried the horn relay as they are the same type and no luck. I even put the horn relay in the headlight spot an still the same. I can feel and hear it clicking so i have no idea what else it could be. I havent had a chance to look at it today as ive been a little busy. A wiring schematic would be pretty handy right now.

Thanks mate, I havent had a chance to look at the car yet. Looking at the pics it shouldnt be to hard to find the fault.

I had a similar problem with just one headlight. Turned out to be the plug in the back of the globe had got wet at some stage even though they are sealed to a degree. This caused an intermittant connection. Open the circular cover on the back of the headlight assembly, disconnect the plug and check the metal contacts inside the plug for integrity and position as they can be pushed out of place when reconnecting. See how that goes....

    I've got this exact problem.
I've checked the relays and fuses, checked the globes, the parkers and high beam lights work fine....but the low beam won't work!
I don't have a clue what it could be although I just found this:

    8. Some VT's may have starting issues caused by a defective Fuel Pump relay (or have no low beam headlights, as the Low Beam relay is the same as the fuel pump relay). A revised relay was introduced late 2000. In case of starting or headlamp problems, the old relay (92047112) should not be used.
