Anyone able to gie me a rough price range of a vt commodore 99 auto v6 series 2
as a write off value?

That would depend on how it was written off. It it was submerged to the roof lining in water, or the front end was just about taken clean off by a truck then its value would be very little, but if it was run up the bum by another car then its value would be more as the engine, tranny and so on would be salvagable.
