    Default Monaro Reverse Lights

    Hey guys,

Just got myself a pair of genuine Monaro CV8Z tail lights from a wrecker for dirt cheap.. and it came with the wiring looms. Wacked them into my VT II today, reverse lights dont work. What do i have to do to get the reverse lights working? I was under the impression that if you got a vx/monaro loom it was going to be plug n play, guess not.

If you have a vt like me you dont need any harnesses, you just take out the sockets from the garnish and wire them through the taillight openings.
You have to plan it first, its not that hard. Also you dont need all 4 wires, you only need 2 but i cant remember which.Best test them first.
Youll have to cut the reverse light wires about 20cm from the socket, and feed it into the taillight output(so you have three(3) sockets hanging out of the taillight hole.Hope this makes sense, ask if you have any questions.

Have you tried the fuse,if youve aleady got 3 sockets you better get testing.
You can only plug n play on monaros and VX's.
This is what it looks like now.

Ye i have 3 sockets because the tail lights came with the VX/monaro wiring loom. so how did you get the reverse socket from the garnish over to the tail light socket? cut and solder it or something? (i dunno how to do that lol)

Yeah i know what you mean. When i first looked at it, it seemed really complicated, but trust me it not.I dont know how to go from your loom. You really have to concentrate on it,if you think of something else just for a sec you'll lose it and its all over again.
Here is a pic I just drew up.As for the soldering you dont have to solder it,try using butt connectors.
