Hi guys, hoping you can shed some light other than the obvious (its knackered), serviced my clubbys auto at 95000K and it was all good, a little stuff on the magnet but pretty clean.
Over time had a tune (firm up shifts also) and a few bolt ons like intake etc.
Yesterday had a 135000KM on the clock had the auto serviced, drove out, felt better a little smoother, went around the corner, i noticed changes started feeling rough and strange, came around another bend just putting, it went 2nd to 3rd and i heard and felt a bang from the auto (people at the car yard all looked!) felt like only 3rd gear, rolled back to mechanics.
Its got no reverse (it selects it but does not move), not first or second, neutral the car can coast but you cannot push it.
I cannot believe trying to do the right thing and service it, it went bang within 5KM!
Get another mechanic to look at it!
I'd say they've done something wrong!
Agreed, I would seriously be looking at them to fix what sounds like their stuff up.
What did they say when you took it back? Also I assume they should have made your car a priority to look at.

They looked very suprised, its on the hoist, getting box taken out, my hands are sorta tied, i can't take it anywhere else really it can't be moved really.
I did service it at 95000KM and there is only the valve body you can access, its sounded like something actually broke inside from the load bang.
Its a PIA, now i got a hire car from budget, its only $50 a day but then there is age excess, rego daily charge, insurance reduction excess, their cheapest car is costing me about $95 a day!
Its seems like my VT clubby is repeating what my old VP did
I would not be letting them get away with that at all. Obviously the mech. had a couple of bolts loose in his head and maybe in your tranny.
I had worse experience, my old VP that ate about 3 transmissions, on the 2nd or 3rd rebuild staight after it was built i told them it does not feel like its shifting right (like its fighting), he said its normal the modified the shift kit, took it back after 1 week, the owner drove it and it lost all gears while he was driving it, they fixed it but put back standard clutch pack even though i paid for modified version.
Its a good performance shop with a good rep, just want to try and find out how it happened, hoping someone that rebuilds transmissions or has experience in this area will chime in???
it sounds like the reaction shell broke, shifting the auto manually down the gears weakens it and it breaks you get no reverse and no 2nd or 4th its just bad luck ,they all break sooner or later ive been re-building them for 22 years [URL="http://www.mpskits.com.au"]
Turned out it was the plantery gear, they rebuilt it with a 2800RPM stall, it uses about 15L per 100KM so its more thirsty. Still need someone to tuned the transmission points properly.
At least you got it sorted.
It's normal for a stally to use more fuel. Did you fit up a trans cooler at the same time? With the sally allowing more slip it causes more heat, hence the need for a trans cooler.
