    Default air con problem

    when i turn on the air con, the light comes on, but the compressor does not kick in , i read on another thread that if the gas is low ,or mt , the compressor will not click in . is this right ?? so i have and get it regassed and checked ??????????

    Thats correct mate. I daresay there is a 95% chance you have a leak in your compressor, as the compressors on VT's are nororious for leaking. Mine had no gas in it when I bought it either, and that was the problem. My dad is an auto air mechanic, and he has a pile of ####ed compressors from VT's etc out the back about waist high! Get it checked out though and you may just have a leak somewhere else though. If it is your compressor though be prepared for a hefty bill. Your prob looking at about $1200 or so

    I went and had my regassed, and the guy found the leak and fixed it before regassing..... then he tells me that some other bit is notorious for leaking so to keep an eye on it....

    idiot. Why not just fix it there and then?
