Power Windows suddenly stopped

hi guys, just got in the car and put the rear windows down, then all the windows stopped working! no intermittent problem they just all stopped at once. Swapped fuse and relay and I'm sure its neither of those. Help I can't lock my car!

normally if they do just stop it is a blown fuse or relay. if switches front & rear dont operate any windows,i would check things over with a multimeter

I swapped relays over from the blower and the rear demister, no dice. Swapped the fuse over from the power seats, again no dice (and the power seat continued to work). I did notice though that when you try and operate the power windows, the power window relay get really hot really quickly. I'll check the switches for power I guess.

You could have a bad earth somewhere,relay normally produce a little heat but not excessive or quickly

JUst had a look in the Haynes repair manual and it says there is a fuse , relay and a circuit breaker for the power windows . Have you checked all three ?

Thanks guys. I went and pulled some stuff apart, one of the connections to the centre console switch looked bad, cleaned it up and it all worked. I was a little freaked out for a second there.
